How To Identify Your Scrapbooking Albums
You can use a single layer of page protector on the spines of albums. Cut a page protector to the same size as your removable spine. Decorate the page protector with stickers, photos, ribbon, paper, numbers, words etc and slip it on to the spine cover before reassembling the album. Your decorations stay safe and they can cover the entire spine.
You can also look for some little charms that you can slip onto the spine as well. They are in the shape of a little frame, so you can add pictures to the frames. This works well when an album is about one person, or for a particular theme such as Christmas or other holidays.
If the albums themselves are not different colors, I would use colored ribbons mounted on the covers in such a way they would run down the spine of the scrapbook as it sits on the shelf. You could write or stamp a name on the ribbon, if you can't remember who or what had each color.
The craft stores and catalogues in their beading section usually have bead bookmark kits of many different kinds. Getting and making some of them up and attaching to the scrapbook is another idea I might use. Another idea would be to get an assortment of tassels and attach them to the spine of the book.
